The start of the 1969 Sebring 12 hour.   As I describe in the story, I somehow managed to make a better start in my PV than many of the big name stars.  The #53 Porsche, which hasn't yet moved, was driven by no lesser talents than Peter Gregg and Wilbur Pickett.

The #22 coming up the middle was driven by Janet Guthrie, Donna Mae Mims and Liane Engman.

A this point I was probably wide open in third gear, accelerating as hard as I could.  The next half hour was probably the most exciting one I'll ever have in my life.
