| Less than 8000 of this model Volvo were produced. The limited number of these in existence was a factor in owner’s decision to restore this particular car despite the severity of the rust damage in the unit body. According to the owner the car spent a good portion of its life in the area around Chicago, IL. As will be seen the harsh winters and heavily salted roads took their toll. The car really was a prime candidate for being cut up for salvage parts. We viewed the project as a challenge and an opportunity to show that our small shop was capable of a major reconstruction. There were times though, during the course of the job that gave us pause for reflection. We did manage to pull the old car through however, and give it a new lease on life.
